Making the Most of a Horse Month
0 comment(s)

Summer is right around the corner and with it brings the Horse month. For many, this can bring a welcome burst of optimism and energy after the quiet, introspective Snake month. Hopefully, you’ve had plenty of time to reflect on your life’s purpose, learn some new things and rekindle your connections with loved ones. So, what now? Here are some tips for making the most of a Horse month and finishing first at the races:

  • Get moving! The Horse favors action, action and more action. This is especially true when it comes to your exercise routine. Team sports are a great way to channel excess energy and meet some new friends while you’re at it. If you’d rather fly solo, find an activity you can be passionate about. The Horse also loves connecting with nature, so get out there and hike, climb, surf or swim to your heart’s content.

  • Stay focused. Since Horsie is always on the go, you may be tempted to change directions at a moment’s notice. It’s pretty likely your attention span will be shorter than normal. It’s OK to try new things, but be careful about leaving projects unfinished or abandoning your goals on a whim.

  • Give others more freedom. Whether it’s your spouse or your colleagues, let others march to their own beat this month. There’s nothing the Horse hates more than feeling stifled. Give your kids a longer leash and don’t complain when your spouse wants a weekend away with friends.

  • Network and schmooze. Horses can usually be found at the center of a crowd. Use this confident energy to attend lots of parties, dinners and events where you can rub elbows with important people or simply make new social connections. A little chitchatting with the right person could bring you a stroke of luck when you need it most.

  • Be transparent. You’ll probably fare better in all areas of life if you act like an open book rather than a mystery novel. Be genuine, down-to-earth, friendly and helpful. This holds true for that first date or a big business meeting. Allow others to see who you really are and be proud of it!

True, life will probably move fast over the next few weeks. Have fun with it. Explore greener pastures, gallop into new territory, and reconnect with the things that make you feel grounded.  Happy trails!
